(a short introduction of our school)

We offer a wide range of general and vocational education to our students in different levels.

They can:

 -          have a GCSE degree for general education (at the age of 18) and go for further educaion – college, university

-          become a technician – two years of specialized education after the so called matura examination, - usually from the age of 18-20

-          become a skilled worker – 2-3 years of training without a GCSE certificate, starting at the age of 17 or alternatively at the age of 14

-          continue their studies as a skilled worker to get a matura examination

There are five main fields of education in our school in the technician level:

1. Environmental Protection – (based on mainly our chemical industrial tradition)

2. Mechanics - Energy (Renewable energies, deep drilling!)
3. Wood industry,
4. Light Industry (fashion, sewing)
5. Informatics, (GIS,)

For the skilled worker level – vocational training - we can offer several other trades:

1. construction and architecture trades: bricklayers, carpenters, tilers,
2. CISCO networking, computers repairing
3. wood-, electric industry: electrician training
4. gas – and water pipe system repairing, welding,
5. hair dressing, sewing
6. environmental - chemical laboratory workers

The students learn English or German as a foreign language.

We have taken part and gained some experience in different school development projects in the past few years.

We have had some experience in international cooperation, eg. Comenius Students Exchanges, Comenius Language Programmes since 1998 in English language – mainly in the Informatics and Environmental section. (Our partner was from Nantes –France)

The fashion industry has had a partner in Germany and Austria for some years – taking part in different common projects.
